The Star 30-30 camshaft was developed by a team of smart people to give excellent performance. The 30-30 was designed for stock engines and bolt on parts. Engine work is not required. Shorty pipes make poor low rpm tunes. Some tuners can (somewhat) cover up the poor exhaust performance with unusual fuel curves and aggressive ignition timing to smooth out the sound wave differential that shorty vs long pipes create. If you want smooth low rpm torque curves, use a long 2 into 1, like Bassani, D&D, Krome Werks and a couple others. The poor torque curve is hardly ever a cam issue. Most poor curves comes from exhaust pipe issues. Or people (tuner) issues. Of course this whole post is my opinion. One more opinion, an auto tune will not fix the dip in the torque curve. Much ignition adjustment required
