Where We Come From

Our Story

I got my first Motorcycle when I was about 8 years old. It is a fond memory for me. I remember coming home from school and my dad was waiting for me with it. I will never forget the moment I first saw it. I am not sure the name brand, but it was a pull start engine, rigid frame mini bike with no brakes. My Dad had gone to Canadian tire and purchased a bunch of add on Parts to make it look cool, mirrors, a horn, a head light ( the one that had the little generator that was powered by the tire) grips etc. At the time we lived on a farm, so I had lots of room to ride it around, and I did. That experience sparked my love of the Motorcycle. I would go on to get into Dirt bikes, ATV’s and Snow machines. Into my teens I began to learn how to service and repair the bikes and other toys I had out of necessity and fortunately for me I seemed to be fairly good at it. My first Street legal bike was a Yamaha TY50 that my Grandfather gave me, and from there I went on to own many motorcycles both dirt and street.

I had wanted a Harley Davidson for about as long as I can remember, and in 2003 I purchased my first Harley. A brand new 100th anniversary Fatboy. Black and silver, At that time it was my dream bike. And yes I am one of those guys that fell in love with the fatboy due to a certain movie released in 1991.

Don’t “Judgement” me

Ever since that purchase I have been a Harley guy. The more I rode the more I loved my Harleys and as time went on I realized I wanted more out of the bikes. I sold the Fatboy and went on to a few other models eventually getting into the touring bikes. I purchased my first Road glide in 2016 at Barnes Harley in Victoria. A brand new 103 Roadglide Special. That was the bike that sparked my passion for serious upgrades and modifications and exposed me to the “Sport Bagger” world. The modifications to that bike were extensive, and the results turned an “old man’s bagger” into to wheelie popping, corner carving machine that was exciting to ride.

The more I rode the more I loved my Harleys and as time went on I realized I wanted more out of the bikes.

Maxx Cycle is Born

In 2018 I decided it was time for a change, a new chapter. I have been fortunate in my life and now have the time to pursue what I love to do. This is where Maxx Cycle has come from.

The desire to work on and improve motorcycles is a passion for me, not a job. My focus now is building Harley Performance Bikes. I take great pride in the bikes I build and the reactions I get when people see and ride them. I do my best to take these bikes to the “next level” of performance and Handling, allowing the rider to have the ultimate riding experience.

So when I am not out riding , I will be tinkering in my shop on one of my bikes or maybe yours,

Cheers, Dave
